We are staying at the Yarn Market Hotel (picture right) as last year for some walking (about 10 mile walk on Saturday) and socializing. The hotel is very comfortable and is in the centre of the medieval village of Dunster, one of England’s prettiest villages, on the edge of Exmoor National Park. The moor’s highest point, Dunkery Beacon is within walking distance. Steve has negotiated a reduced rate for a group booking. 2 nights in a twin/double ensuite £119 per person. 2 nights in a single occupancy ensuite £139 per person. All full board with a set menu, inc packed lunch Sat. There will a social programme for the Friday and Saturday nights and a church service on the Sunday.
A deposit of £25 per person is required on booking, with a cheque for the balance (either £114 or £94) post-dated 10th March 2008, payable to ‘Steve Pullen Walking Account.’ To request an essential application form, please contact harvesters@blueyonder.co.uk or SteveLindaPullen@AOL.com

This group event is open to you and your friends, serious walkers or sight-seers, all ages, single and married. We have reserved all 21 single and 14 twin rooms with tea/coffee facilities as in our previous 5 years. The hotel is a popular mountain centre which specialises in group outdoor activities. Please take a look at the venue's own website: www.glaramara.co.uk.
Cost: £188 for 4 nights (or £141 for 3 nights). The group holiday is for four nights but you may choose to book for just three nights if you prefer. The weather is often more mild then and has been warm and sunny at a great time of the year when new-born lambs are numerous but crowds of visitors aren't. We choose from various walks to suit the group. Sight-seeing is an acceptable alternative to choosing from daily guided walks. The purpose of the holiday is to provide an enjoyable time for all of us.
13th to 15th June - Cycling and walking in the New Forest.
Last year about 16 of us enjoyed this event, with about 35 miles cycling on the Saturday and 15 miles cycling on the Sunday. We all enjoyed a BBQ together on Saturday night. If you want to come, but don't want to cycle you are most welcome, but you may have to arrange your own walks etc. If you want to come on this event please book your own place at Burleigh youth hostel (for the Friday and Saturday night) and then let us know you are coming. Apart from the BBQ you have to arrange other meals (e.g. either buy from the hostel or bring your own food). Send an E-mail to luke@sesinglechristians.org for further details.

The Savill Garden covers approximately 35 acres and dates from 1932 when it was started by Eric Savill, Deputy Ranger of Windsor Great Park, with the support of King George V and Queen Mary. With the intervention of the war, the garden could not be completed until the early 1950s. It is said that immediately following the war Eric Savill used bricks from bombed houses in the East End of London to create the Walled Garden.

On 14 October 1066 an army of invading Normans defeated the English at the Battle of Hastings in East Sussex. Now the whole family can discover the exciting story of that fateful day at the very place it happened. A major new exhibition uses film, computer technology and interactive exhibits to bring to life this bloodiest of conflicts. Enjoy the new audio tour of the 100-acre battlefield, stand on the very spot where King Harold was slain and explore the ruins of the atmospheric abbey, built by William the Conquer to commemorate the thousands who died. It is a great day out for the whole family.Book through: http://www.singleandchristian.co.uk/
