At Lakenheath Fen, the RSPB has converted an area of arable farmland into a large wetland. There is a new visitor centre where you can find out more about the reserve, its wildlife and history. We’ll be visiting the Centre and following this with some time at the Christmas Hill Farm Shop and then a Bring & Share meal at Michael’s home. The Imperial War Museum’, Lambeth Road, London, SE1 6HZ. Meet at 12 noon at the entrance before having lunch in the café. Then wander around the museum (admission free) and any special exhibitions (fee applicable). Meet up for afternoon tea about 4pm back in the café then leave or stay until the museum closes. As before, this years second event meeting is on a Saturday and will double as a Bridges social event. We’ll begin our time together by planning our event list for July - December 2010 and this will be followed by a shared takeaway meal. Bank Holiday Monday - 3rd May Daytime - A visit to REACH FAIR - meeting at 11:30 am Evening - A meal at PREZZO in Newmarket - meeting at 6:30pm
REACH FAIR - 11:30am We’ll be meeting at 11:30 outside the pub called The Dykes End Inn and from there we’ll head to the Fair venue. Running since 1201 Reach Fair is the oldest Fair in England. Lots of displays and activities throughout the day. See Medieval Knights, Music, Dancing and Traditional Fair rides. There will also be games, ‘Arts and Crafts’ stalls, entertainment and hands on activities. As for food and drink, there will be a BBQ, Hog Roast, salad bar and, of course, a beer tent and much more.

A day in Ely Saturday, May 22nd - meeting at 11:00am
We’ll be meeting at 11:00am in the car park of Strikes 10-Pin Bowling and from there we’ll head into the city centre and explore the various attractions (of which there are many!). We’ll then return to Strikes at 4:45pm to begin 2 games of bowling (commencing at 5:00pm). Our meal will take place at 7:30pm at the ever popular China Inn! You can attend part or all of the day but please contact us by 14 May for numbers for bowling and meal.
A Trip to Sherringham Bank holiday Monday - May 31st, meeting at 11:00am
We’ll be spending a day in the seaside town of Sherringham. We’ll be meeting at a pub called the Windham Arms (15, Wyndham Street, Sherringham, NR26 8BA). The programme will be influenced very much by the weather on the day, so please bring a Bucket and spade/ umbrella as appropriate. It’s likely that we’ll be returning to the Windham arms for a meal later in the day. Please contact us at some point so we know to expect you
